Capital Campaign

Capital Campaign Kickoff 2/4/18:

Please take some time to review the recorded video below of our Feb. 4th Kick-off Worship Service.   Please listen to Pastor Paul’s Text & Sermon, which directs all us to step out in faith, when we prayerfully consider our actions in our Capital Campaign.

Capital Campaign Update 1/28/18:

I just want to take a few minutes and briefly explain what has taken place after the Congregation voted very favorably to move forward with Capital Campaign on Nov. 12th, 2017. I have agreed to be the Campaign Coordinator working along with Pastor Paul, Staff, Council, Campaign Steering Committee and Steve & Mary Kay Havey of Havey & Associates, Inc., our Campaign consultant(s).  I hope that most of you had a chance to review Pastor Paul’s comments concerning the Capital Campaign in his Annual Report

In the last two months we have been very busy. Here’s what we have accomplished:

  • It all begins with an establishing a solid foundation for the Campaign: People, Process and tools and this is very different from our last Capital Campaign in 2002. A big thanks to Campaign Consultant(s).
  • We have been collecting a plethora of information, pictures, resources and potential givingneeded to make this Campaign successful. Big thanks for all who have and continue to help with this effort.
  • Enlisted a Campaign Steering Committee and had its first meeting Jan. 11th. The Campaign Steering Committee is composed of Pastor Paul, Jeff Fischer (Council President), Kay Bliefernicht, Ryan Anderson, Aaron Johnson, Tracy Massey, Michael Nott, myself and the 8 Congregational Gifts Chairpersons.
  • The 8 Congregational Gifts Chairpersons that have been enlisted are: Jon & Sara Fishwild, Norris Breitbach, Joanne Gladden, Dan & Megan Lisowski, Rachel Berens-VanHeest, Rob Schmidt, Barbara Newhouse, Jeff Fischer. We are thankful to the Campaign Steering and the Congregational Gift Chairpersons for their willing leadership.
  • The Congregational Gift Chairpersons will be enlisting their Team Members starting 1/30/18. Please agree when called upon to serve – as it will take all of us to make this Campaign a success.
  • The Campaign Steering Committee developed the Name and Theme of our Campaign: “Forward in Faith: “The Next Step Together”
  • We met with our Finance Team to get their guidance on the recommended Campaign Accounting Procedures. A big thanks to the due diligence of our Finance Team.
  • We will be having 3 Awareness/Education Meetings on March 4th, 11th and 17th. Please plan on attending one of these informational meetings.

What is next:

  • Equipping our Congregational Gift Chairpersons and their teams to drive this Campaign top down and bottom up.
  • Preparing promotional materials that will be hand delivered to our members.
  • Starting the actual pledge portion of the Campaign in late March.
  • Completing the pledge portion of the Campaign by mid-May.
  • To be determined, date for a Congregation Meeting in June to announce results of the Campaign and next steps.

I want to focus back to verse that Pastor Paul quotes at the beginning of his Annual Report:

Matthew 17:20

He said to them, “For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”

God’s Peace and Celebration.
